SECURE SOCKET LAYER (SSL) CERTIFICATE CHANGE FOR IP/SSL
Please take note of the upcoming changes regarding IP/SSL communication for point of sale (POS) equipment and payment applications.
The IP/SSL change which entails upgrading encryption from 1024bit to 2048 bit is an industry-wide change, and is not specific to Heartland Payment Systems. This change has been mandated by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to ensure additional security when sending transactions over the internet.
In order to support these changes, Heartland has:

If that window displays
Test completed at: (Today’s date and time)
then Congratulations! No additional testing is required, you will not be impacted by these changes.
If the window displays anything other than “Test Completed”, your root certificates may need to be updated to include 2048 bit certificates. Please ensure that your operating system has the most recent updates installed or contact your business’ IT support for assistance.
