Robert O. Carr
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Robert O. Carr, also known as Bob, has been the Chief Executive Officer of Heartland Payment Systems, Inc. since October 2000. Mr. Carr serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carr Holdings, LLC. He co-founded Heartland Payment Systems in 1997 and serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Carr is responsible for Strategic direction and growth of Heartland Payment Systems.
Mr. Carr started his career at Parkland College in Champaign, IL. After serving as its professor, president of the college's faculty and director of its computer center, he moved to the Bank of Illinois and then started a software and consulting business for small and mid-sized businesses. He co-founded HPS LLC in March 1997 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from March 1997 to October 2000, when the merger of HPS LLC became effective. He joined HPS LLC after selling his interest in Credit Card Software Systems, Inc., an ISO he founded in 1987, specializing in the travel and entertainment industry. He serves as Chairman of Leaf Holdings, Inc. Mr. Carr has been an Executive Chairman of Heartland Payment Systems, Inc. since October 2000.

Mr. Carr serves as Director at Heartland Payment Systems Campus Solutions, Board of Trustees of Historical Society of Princeton, Princeton, Historic Morven. Mr. Carr serves as Board of Advisors of Seton Hall Business School, Woodrow Wilson House and is a Founder of Give Something Back Foundation, a nonprofit which funds academic scholarships for disadvantaged children, recognizes teaching excellence and donates to various charitable organizations.
Mr. Carr holds a Master of Science degree in computer science and Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL and a Honorary Doctorate of Humanities degree from Lewis University, Romeoville, IL.
