Desktop & mobile payment acceptance
With Heartland’s Portico Virtual Terminal you can use your internet-ready PC or laptop to process credit, debit and prepaid commercial card transactions quickly and securely by manually keying in cardholder information or by adding an E3TM PIN pad that will encrypt all card information as it is swiped and key-entered. Portico provides an inexpensive way for you to accept payments, and replaces stand-alone payment terminals that require dedicated phone lines. Portico can be used to process “Card-Present” and “Card-Not-Present” transactions.

Heartland has more than 100 e-commerce business partners who specialize in a variety of areas, such as POS, shopping carts, logistics, accounting, and application development. They provide easy-to-integrate, highly secure online payment processing solutions that lead to faster, smoother projects—and better results for merchants.
Our partners support all levels of integration projects—from simple to complex. Plus, you’ll benefit from helpful features such as sample scripts, redundant data centers, robust capacity, tools to manage PCI compliance, transaction security solutions, and dedicated risk management.
It’s simple to integrate. Secure Submit is a jQuery plugin that requires minimal initialization code. And it works seamlessly with all major browsers. You can refine the payment submission process through several configuration options.
Secure Submit uses payment tokens—that can’t be decrypted—to replace sensitive cardholder data. This allows a customer’s information to go directly to Heartland without touching the merchant’s servers. By doing so, it greatly reduces a merchant’s PCI scope and costs.
Heartland provides single-use and multi-use tokens. The single-use tokens are valid for 30 minutes from the time of issuance. Merchants can store both types of tokens on their servers without having to worry about PCI compliance issues.
Heartland’s Web Services API supports interoperable machine-to-machine interaction via the Internet. Branded API integration and operating guides are available for download, and you get access to a configuration portal.
Here’s a list of the Web Services APIs we support:
• ASP.net (VB)
• ASP.net (C#)
