Heartland and Cantaloupe Collaborate To Offer Cashless Vending Solution

Heartland Payment Systems™, one of the nation’s largest payments processors, and Cantaloupe Systems, a leading provider of remote monitoring and management services for vending, have entered into an alliance.

Under this alliance, Heartland is certifying the Cantaloupe Seed System as a payment gateway for the delivery of credit, debit and stored-value card transactions from vending machines. Cantaloupe will refer vending operator customers to Heartland for payments processing services ― enabling these vendors to use their existing Cantaloupe equipment and network connections for electronic payments.

“Cantaloupe recognizes the tremendous synergies and unique value added through its association with Heartland” said Mandeep Arora, chief executive officer of Cantaloupe Systems. “Heartland brings a wealth of experience in cashless vending processing with its MicroPaymentsSM and Campus SolutionsSM divisions. Cantaloupe Systems is very pleased to be adding Heartland as a premier cashless vending processor.”

Bob Carr, chairman and chief executive officer of Heartland Payment Systems, added, “Heartland has long recognized the great value of real-time remote machine monitoring and management to the vending industry. We are pleased to work with a leader in this emerging market.”

Enabling consumers to purchase products in vending machines with credit, debit and stored-value cards opens vending merchandising to a whole new world of opportunity. Transaction convenience and the ability to easily buy more expensive items will encourage consumers to incorporate vending purchases into their regular shopping routines.

The Heartland-Cantaloupe relationship is non-exclusive ― allowing both parties to bring their innovations to the market at large.
