Kris Herrin of Heartland Payment Systems® Named a Top Chief Technology Officer by IDG’s InfoWorld

using industry best management practicesPRINCETON, NJ — June 30, 2010 — Kris Herrin, chief technology officer at Heartland Payment Systems (NYSE: HPY), the nation’s fifth largest payments processor, has been named to the 2010 InfoWorld CTO 25 by IDG’s InfoWorld. The InfoWorld CTO 25 Awards annually honor senior IT executives who demonstrate leadership within their companies and the IT community.

Herrin joined Heartland in 2008 as chief security officer. He transitioned to the role of chief technology officer in August 2009 and began working to drive operational efficiencies and deliver innovative services while using industry-specific service management best practices.
Recently, Herrin spearheaded the redesign of Heartland’s disaster recovery capabilities and conducted a “CTO Pulls the Plug” exercise to prove the reliability of Heartland’s revenue-generating payments processing platforms. He has also been active in the development of E3™, the company’s state-of-of-the-art, end-to-end payment card security technology that was recently commercially launched.
