Effective immediately, merchants are permitted to establish a minimum dollar value for accepting credit cards. The minimum may not exceed $10 and applies to credit cards only, not PIN or signature (non-PIN) debit or prepaid cards.
If you plan to post a minimum purchase sign in your establishment, it must state, for example, “Credit card sales require $5 minimum purchase.”
